The first time I heard of the Barenaked Ladies was in 2001, when my father brought home a copy of their greatest hits cd. Being 10 at the time, I didn’t care much for the rock and roll style offered by the band I now love. It wasn’t until the release of the 2003 album, “Everything to Everyone,” that I finally started falling in love with the band and its music.
Unfortunately for me, however, 2003 was the band’s last full American tour until 2010. So for almost six years I sat in wait in California watching my favorite band push out new albums, only to either not go on tour or play solely in Canada.
I even had to watch others go on what the Ladies call their Ships and Dip Cruise, which has been held the second week of February for the last four years. Even looking at the website right now I am a little bit upset. The only reason (other than funds) that I’m not packing for the trip RIGHT NOW is that I have to be in school. I can’t really skip a week of school to spend a week on a boat with my favorite band of all time… right? That’s the right answer, right?
